APC-SBX/DS-3 is an intelligent multiple-protocol communicationscontroller. Each physical channel features a coprocessor which may beprogrammed to support CCITT LAPB, LAPD mode, and in transparent mode forHDLC, Frame Relay, or IBM SDLC. Each channel has a software selectablev. 35, RS-449/422, and X.21 electrical interface.Other features include 1 MB of onboard SRAM for frame buffering anddigital phase-locked loop circuitry for back-to-back connection. APC-SBXis suitable for applications demanding the highest performance withminimum burden on the host CPU. It is ideal for use with Multimedia forUNIX or Frame Relay, for T3/E3 (up to 45 Mb/s) full-rate data links,fiber-optic data links, LAN-to-DDN or -PDN gateways, or wide-areaRFS/NFS.
